About

We are Centered on Jesus, Growing in Faith, and Sharing His Love!

Our History

Orondo Community Presbyterian Church was established in 1932 and met at the Orondo Grange Hall. In 1954 land was donated to the church to build a building. When it came time to build, the community came together and with guidance from a couple of men in the carpentry trade built the building that is still vitally being used today. Over time remodeling was done and updates made, but the structure still stands pretty much as it did when it was built.

It has, as many churches do, gone through good times and tough times. Yet, this beacon of light between the bridges has remained faithful to God’s Word and shines its light in the Orondo Valley.

Up until December 2014 we were the Orondo Community Presbyterian Church, we are now the Orondo Community Church.

Our Focus

We believe that God placed the Orondo Community Church where it is to be a safe haven and place of discovering who God is, how much He loves us. We challenge all in their relationship with Him, encourage all to receive Christ as Lord and Savior, and to love all who enter its doors.

Our Mission Statement

“We are Centered on Jesus, Growing in Faith, and Sharing His Love!”

We Believe

  • That the Bible, as originally written, was and is the inspired Words of God Himself, and should be interpreted as Absolute Truth that we must use as our source of strength and our guide through life here on earth.
  • In One God representing Himself in Three Persons:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • That Jesus, God the Son, left His rightful place in Heaven, came as a Baby, born of a virgin, that He is fully man and yet, fully God. That He lived a sinless life while in that human body. Then Jesus willingly went to the cross and died for the sins of mankind. Then on the third day after His death, He rose from the dead bodily, was seen by over 500 witnesses, and then ascended into Heaven to prepare place for all who would repent of their sins and receive the free gift of salvation offered by the Father, out of pure love and desire to be in personal relationship with His creation.
  • That, as He promised, He will come back again to take those who have placed their faith in Him and Him alone to be with Him forever and ever. When He comes back He will judge mankind for what they have done. Those who have placed their total faith in Him and received His gift of salvation will enter into the place prepared for them.  For those who have not received His gift will be judged and will be condemned to eternal separation from God’s presence, which in itself will be “hell”, though Scripture says they will be cast into the lake that burns with fire. Whether that is a literal lake or not, we do not know, but we do believe that wherever they go it will not be a pleasant place to be for eternity.
